Virginia Hardaway, APRN, DNP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She is a Hallsville native. She obtained a post-master's degree as a family nurse practitioner from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in 2016 and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2020. Virginia obtained a Master of Nursing Administration (MSN) and Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN), both from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2010 and 2002, respectively. She has been practicing with Longview Regional for over 22 years.
Dr. Hardaway helped to facilitate Longview Regional Medical Center's transition into electronic medical records, including leading the build for nursing documentation and serving as the liaison between the hospital and the corporate EHR department. She also played a vital role in the development of the inpatient critical care step-down expansion, including the opening of the heart and vascular unit in 2011, prior to transitioning to the outpatient clinic as a full-time practitioner. In her tenure, she has been recognized by LRMC as "Nurse Of The Year" in 2007 and "Employee Of The Year" in 2011. She is passionate about education, previously functioning as adjunct faculty for both the University of Texas and Letourneau University. Virginia loves the flexibility in her role which allows her to provide evidence-based care to her patients. She provides a heartfelt effort in helping her patients understand their cardiac diagnosis and prognosis and assists them with reaching their maximum quality of life by educating them on necessary treatments and preventative measures.
She is an active member of the Piney Woods Advanced Practice Nurses Association, currently serving as a vice president. She is a Legacy Member of Texas Nurse Practitioners Association and is currently serving as a Legislative Ambassador. Additionally, she is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurses Association, American Nurse Association and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
Virginia is married to her husband David. Together they enjoy traveling, fishing, camping and spending time with their family. She has 3 adult children, 3 children-in-loves and 4 grandchildren.
